What is Wheelo and how does it work?

Wheelo is an app for motorcyclists that provides features to enhance your experience: find and share routes, meet other riders, record a ride, and track your group during a motorcycle trip. Available for iOS and Android

Is Wheelo free?

Yes, Wheelo is free. We also offer premium paid features, such as the SOS button, group tracking, and other advanced features that you can find here.

What features are unlocked by subscribing to Wheelo Plus?

With Wheelo Plus, you'll unlock: group and individual GPS tracking, import/export of GPX tracks, motorcycle SOS function, and the ability to create private events that are not visible on the home page.

How do I create a GPS track?

Click at the bottom center.
Click on "GPS Tracking" and the map will show your location.
At the bottom of the screen, click 'Create Track' and then 'Start Tracking.'Pause or stop the tracking as needed.
View the summary and save the tracking.

Where can I find my tracks?

Click the archive icon at the bottom and select "Tracks". You will find them sorted from the most recent to the least recent.

How do you start group GPS tracking?

To create a group GPS tracking, you need a Wheelo Plus subscription. Click on “Group GPS Tracking” and then on “Create an invitation code”. Share the code with the participants. The code consists of 4 letters and numbers, for example, "MB9C.”

Can I participate in group GPS tracking without a Wheelo Plus subscription?

Yes, participation in group GPS tracking created by Plus users is free for all participants.

How do I organize a motorcycle ride?

Click and select "Plan a Ride", then "Motorcycle Ride". Now you can create your itinerary in several ways:

- GPS Track: click 'from GPS track' and select the desired route. Press 'continue' and enter the details, such as itinerary name, type of road (highway, state road, provincial road, or dirt road), add an image, and click 'next' to complete.

- GPX File: upload the GPX file from your phone and enter the event details: name, date, time, and description. In the 'event visibility' section, choose whether to make it public or private. Click 'Continue' and then 'create gathering.' When done, you will see 'Event successfully created!'.

- Manually: manually enter the starting and ending points, choose whether to avoid highways or take the fastest route. You will see the route on the map along with travel time and distance. Add a point of interest from the map or manually, then enter the name, image, road type, and click 'next' to complete.

- From existing itinerary: select one of the 500 itineraries available in the app. Use the search bar to find the route. Click on the cover image to view the information sheet, then click 'select itinerary.' Add name, date, time, description, and decide whether to limit participants or make the event public or private. Press 'continue' to complete.

How do I organize an event/gathering on Wheelo?

Click at the bottom center. Select “Plan an outing“ and then “gathering”.
Choose the event location on the map and click “Continue”.
Fill in the event details: name, date, and time. Add a brief description and choose the visibility of the event (“public” or “private”).
Each event must include at least one image. Click “Continue” and then “Create gathering.”

How do I organize an off-road outing?

Click at the bottom center. Select “Plan an outing” and then “Off-road outing”.
Choose the event location on the map and click “Continue.”
Fill in the event details: name, date, and time. Add a brief description and choose the visibility of the event (“public” or “private”).
Each event must include at least one image. Click “Continue” and then “create gathering.”

How do I evaluate an event?

Click the icon at the bottom right. Go to the “Messages” section.
In the top right, click on to see the list of recent events.
Select the event and rate it with a thumbs up or thumbs down.

How can I find and share routes on Wheelo?

In the “Explore” section , you can find routes divided by category or region. You can search for routes suggested by other users or create your own. To share a route, select the sharing option, add descriptions and photos, and publish it.

What informations do I need to register?

To register on Wheelo, you need a first name, last name, phone number, and a password. You can also add an email (optional and not visible to other users), your bike type, and a profile picture. The data is processed in accordance with privacy regulations.

What happens if I press the SOS button?

When the “SOS” button is pressed, the app searches for all nearby motorcyclists and automatically sends a help request to all users within a radius of about 40 kilometers. This feature can be very useful in case the user faces difficulties (flat tire, trouble lifting the bike, or situations of danger requiring assistance).
