What is Wheelo and how does it work?

Wheelo is an all-in-one app designed to simplify the motorcyclist's experience: receive warnings about dangerous curves with the integrated GPS system; manage your motorcycle's maintenance; send help requests with the SOS button; track your group during a motorcycle ride; and discover over 5000 motorcycle routes. Available for iOS and Android.

Is Wheelo free?

Yes, Wheelo is free. We also offer premium features available through a subscription, which you can find here.

What features are unlocked by subscribing to Wheelo Plus?

With Wheelo Plus, you gain access to:

- maintenance reminders and motorcycle status PDF
- GPS tracking
- group tracking
- GPX file import and export
- the ability to create private motorcycle rides

How do I create a GPS track?

Tap at the bottom center.
The map will display your current location.
At the bottom of the screen, tap “Tracking” and then “GPS Tracking”.
Select the motorcycle you will use.
Pause or stop the tracking as needed.
View the summary and save the track.

Where can I find my tracks?

Tap the Wheelo logo at the top left.
Tap “Archive” and then “Tracks”.
You will find them sorted from the most recent to the oldest.

How do you start group GPS tracking?

First of all, to create a group GPS tracking, a Wheelo Plus subscription is required.
Tap the icon at the bottom center.
Tap “Tracking” and then “Group GPS Tracking”.
Then tap “Create an invitation code” to share with participants. The code consists of 4 letters and numbers,
e.g., “MB9C.”

How do I join a group GPS track?

To join a group GPS track, tap at the bottom center.
Tap “Tracking” and then “Group GPS Tracking”.
Then tap “Scan code” to scan the invitation code.

Can I participate in group GPS tracking without a Wheelo Plus subscription?

Yes, participation in group GPS tracking created by Plus users is free for all participants.

How do I create an itinerary?

Click on “Itineraries”.
Then click on “Create” at the bottom center.
Now you can create your itinerary in different ways:

- GPS Track: click “From GPS Track” and select the desired route. Tap “Continue” and enter the details, such as itinerary name, road type (highway, main road, provincial road, or dirt road), add an image, and click “Next” to complete.

- GPX File: upload the GPX file from your phone and fill in the event details: name, date, time, and description. In the “Event Visibility” section, choose whether to make it public or private. Tap “Continue” and then “Create Event.” At the end, the message “Event successfully created!” will appear.

- Manually: manually enter the starting and ending points, choose whether to avoid highways or take the fastest route. The route will be displayed on the map along with travel time and distance. Add a point of interest from the map or manually, then enter the name, image, road type, and click “Next” to complete.

How do I organize a motorcycle ride?

Click on “Events”.
Then click on “Create” at the bottom center.
Now you can create your ride in different ways:

- GPS Track: click “From GPS Track” and select the desired route. Tap “Continue” and enter the details, such as itinerary name, road type (highway, main road, provincial road, or dirt road), add an image, and click “Next” to complete.

- From Existing Itinerary: select one of the 500 itineraries available in the app. Use the search bar to find the route. Click on the cover image to view the information sheet, then tap “Select Itinerary.” Add name, date, time, description, and decide whether to limit participants or make the event public or private. Tap “Continue” to complete.

How do I organize a gathering on Wheelo?

Click on “Events” and then tap “Create”.
Choose the event location on the map and click “Continue”.
Fill in the event details: name, date, and time. Add a brief description and choose the visibility of the event (“public” or “private”).
Each event must include at least one image. Click “Continue” and then “Create gathering.”

How do I organize an off-road outing on Wheelo?

Click on “Events” and then tap “Create”.
Choose the event location on the map and click “Continue.”
Fill in the event details: name, date, and time. Add a brief description and choose the visibility of the event (“public” or “private”).
Each event must include at least one image. Click “Continue” and then “create gathering.”

How to share a motorcycle ride/event?

To share a motorcycle ride or an event, you need to share the invitation code found on the event page. The code consists of 6 characters (letters and numbers), for example, “342-DT4”.

How to join a motorcycle ride/event?

To join a motorcycle ride or an event, tap on “Events”. In the top right, you will see “Search by invitation code”. Enter the code and complete the participation process.

How do I evaluate an event?

Tap the notification icon in the top right. Select the event and rate it with a thumbs up or thumbs down.

How can I find and share itineraries on Wheelo?

By clicking the “Itineraries” button, you’ll find routes categorized by type or region. You can search for routes suggested by other users or create your own. To share a route, select the sharing option, add descriptions and photos, and publish it.

What information do I need to register?

To register on Wheelo, you need your first name, last name, phone number and a password. You can add your Google email or Apple ID (optional and not visible to users), as other generic emails are not supported. You can also add your motorcycle type and a profile picture. Data is handled in compliance with privacy regulations.

How does the SOS button for emergencies work?

When the “SOS” button is pressed, the app searches for all nearby motorcyclists and automatically sends an alert requesting help to all users within a radius of approximately 50 km. This feature can be very useful in case of user difficulties (flat tire, trouble lifting the motorcycle, dangerous situations, or need for assistance).

Where can I find and manage my motorcycle’s maintenance?

Tap the “Garage” button at the bottom right, select the motorcycle you want to check and manage tasks like inspections, insurance renewal, road tax payment, oil changes, tires, air filter, and more. Enter the kilometers made, intervention dates, notes, attachments like invoices and the workshop name. You can download a maintenance history PDF by tapping the three dots at the top right.

How does the maintenance history PDF download work?

Tap the “Garage” button at the bottom right and select the motorcycle you want to check. At the top right, click the three dots and select “Download maintenance history PDF” to export a PDF file with all updated maintenance records for your motorcycle.

How does Dynamic weather work?

With this feature, you can check weather forecasts along your entire route, with hourly details up to 5 days ahead. It provides information on temperature, wind, humidity, and visibility index for safe motorcycle rides.

How does the Nearby Gas Stations option work?

By tapping the “Nearby Gas Stations” button on the home screen, a map will appear showing your precise location and a list of nearby gas stations, including fuel prices and exact distance from your position.

How does the GPS system work?

The navigator allows you to safely reach your destination, providing alerts for dangerous curves, speed cameras and adverse weather conditions.

How does the Dangerous curves work?

We have classified dangerous curves based on their level of risk, compared to current weather conditions. Curves are categorized into yellow, orange and red, indicating increasing levels of danger.
